MTV EXIT is a campaign to raise awareness and increase prevention of human trafficking through television programmes, live events, and online content.
MTV EXIT is about freedom -- about our rights as human beings to choose where we live, where we work, who our friends are, and who we love. Most of us take these freedoms for granted, but hundreds of thousands of people throughout the world have had these basic human rights taken away. They are victims of trafficking – modern-day slaves -- and criminals have forced, defrauded, or coerced them into various forms of labour, or prostitution.
Check out the videos on this site and you can also download them at www.mtvexit.org or view them at http://youtube.com/profile?user=goffsi.
How you can join the fight against trafficking: --- Raise awareness: Spreading the word does a lot -- get all your friends to join this Facebook group and watch the videos. Make sure that no one you know is unaware of trafficking.
--- Fundraise - Organise fundraising events in bars, nightclubs etc etc. Charge a fee on the door and donate to a local organization helping trafficking victims. You can find local anti-trafficking organisations at www.mtvexit.org.
--- Lobbying - Get in touch with a local organization and find out what your local and national government is doing. See how you can help change the situation in your country.
--- Victim assistance - Volunteer with an anti-trafficking organisation to help rescued victims of trafficking.
These are just some of the ways you can get involved.
